Unwanted Wisestamp Pop Up? Blame Yahoo

Ever since I tried gmail, I hopelessly regretted ever using Yahoo Mail. Bad UI and Ad-ridden don’t even begin to describe it. Even now, Yahoo comes back to haunt me.

The problem: Wisestamp.com Tab Pop Up

So I checked my Yahoo email on desktop recently for some old information. Then for no apparent reason, ever time I opened a my first incognito window, I would also get a second tab that redirected me to wisestamp.com. It’s especially unnerving since I’m using incognito…but also SO annoying. It took me a few minutes to figure out why it was happening. Here’s how to get rid of it.

Edit:
I later realized the Yahoo Mail Signature app was in my chrome apps so I removed it there as well:

  1. Go to your chrome apps (can type chrome://apps/ into your URL bar)
  2. Right click on the yahoo app
  3. Select Remove from

Original method I used:

  1. Click the three vertical dots on the upper right hand side of your chrome window
  2. Hover over “More Tools”
  3. Click on Task Manager Screen Shot 2017-11-07 at 4.27.00 PM.png
  4. Select all Yahoo Mail items
  5. Click “End Process”

If it doesn’t work, clear your cache and cookies and try again.

Yahoo is the worst! 😦

  1. thanks a lot. this was driving me crazy. This isn’t the first time I got Wisestamp toilet paper stuck to my heel. They’re a shady org if i’m being kind. If i were in marketing at WiseStamp I’d be ashamed of myself for being intentionally short sighted with my brand’s marketplace perception, or neglectfully allowing this to happen.
